Well, we have come to that time again
where music resources have been tapped for a great
while, and now they are coming back with a force. Jonas
Brothers Mania is second only to Justin Timberlake and
Britney Spears. They are bringing the heat and have
young girls around the world screaming their names. In
fact, country singer, Taylor Swift, pop teen Miley Cyrus
and Disney star Selena Gomez have all had relationships
with the boys.
As for Britney, she is making a great comeback with her
latest hit, "Womanizer," which is also her second number
one hit on US Billboard Charts, her first being her
breakout hit, "Baby One More Time." Her second video and
single are already making waves on the chart and the
video has been said to be steamy. Womanzier marked a new
Madonna-esque treat with Britney re-inventing herself
even though downplay the video as a "Toxic" clone and
nothing new from the mega popstar. You decide!
Michael Jackson has
been working on new music since her was cleared of
sexual molestation charges in 2005. Whether he is
innocent or not we will never know, but he is an amazing
performer and has the biggest fan-base of all time
spanning every part of planet Earth. He has been working
with many tops producers who are not only quite popular
right now but are so enthusiastic about working with
"The King of Pop" himself. He is definitely the greatest
of all time and know one can deny. If not, they are in
serious denial.
Whitney Houston has
also been working on new material and is headed for a
comeback. Note to Whitney is that she shouldn't take too
long on this album, because people will forget her and
all the fans from back in the day may lose interest.
Limp Bizkit has also
gone into hibernation and Hanson's still cranking out
the tunes on their independent label with several top
ten singles and each are married with children. But
everyone still remembers "MMMbop" cause it never gets
old. |
Christina Aguilera has
released a new Greatest Hits album with two new bonus
tracks and the former Mickey Mouseketeer is just getting
started and shows her ability to change with every album
and to take new risks. She has safely managed to
solidify herself as a credible musician and has an
amazing voice and vocal range. I guess you could say
that she is the JC Chasez counterpart.
Backstreet is also back
with two back to back reinventing albums and even though
they seem to be past their primes, they still have
die-hard fans who continue to stick with them after
almost two decades. Now that's progress! They are in the
studio working on group material and solo material with
Brian Littrell and Nick Carter having released one solo
record each. Liked the song on Nick's album with Mr.
Vegas - "Girls In The U.S.A.; very cool!
Brian is a gospel
musician at heart, just like former Destiny's Child
member, Michelle Williams but her second and latest
effort being more up-tempo pop and R&B, bringing her
back to the days of Destiny's Child. Not bad but they
girls of DC have to try harder before they can match
Beyonce.
JC Chasez's long awaited
album "Kate" or "The Story of Kate" which has been in
the works since November 2004 appears to be dead. He has
parted ways with Jive Records and was being encouraged
online and offline to start his own label or do some
independent stuff. Others suggest that he join Justin's
label. I call that crap. JC has been in Justin's shadow
even since "No Strings Attached" album which is a
turnaround since JC was the main singer and the most
popular one from the beginning and not to mention has an
amazing vocal range. Hope he releases the album before
the next Ice-Age. |
Nick
Lachey, former husband of Jessica Simpson and co-star of
Nick and Jessica: Newley Weds is about to release his
third solo album even though he was talking about 98
Degrees reuniting. He is now with Former TRL VJ and
Host, Vanessa Minnillo and are going strong. Jessica has
had her share of brief romances, from Tony Romo,
football player and John Mayer, pop musician, and
several others.
TRL is officially over
after over ten years on MTV. The show became a pop
phenomena every show it was on and it all started with
Mr. Carson Daly and John Norris, MTV News and since its
inception many VJs have come and gone. Damien Fahey took
over from Carson in 2002 after being his protégé. Carson
left to host "Last Call" on NBC which was a late night
talk show. He and the show grew and attracted many fans
and fan favourites, from all genres, the show was a
place where anyone could vote, whether online or by
phone for their favourite musicians' videos, whether
Eminem, Nelly, Britney Spears, *Nsync, Backstreet Boys
and many more. It almost always came down to the boy
bands and Eminem or Limp Bizkit, even Korn, a more
darker type of music and videos that were very creative,
from *Nsync's "It';'s Gonna Be Me" to Hanson's "If
Only," or Eminem's "The Real Slim Shady."
It also saw the
breakout stars from boy bands to rock groups and girl
groups, from TLC to Destiny's Child. Beyonce was the
breakout star from Destiny's Child and has had amazing
solo success, even gaining more number one solo hits
than her tenure in Destiny's Child.
*Nsync broke up when
Justin got tired of *Nsync and was becoming a big pop
star. It came with some bad blood with him and Lance
Bass who publicly bashed Timberlake for his part in the
group's breakup.
O-Town also became a
group from MTV and broke up on MTV with Ashley Parker
Angel launching a poor solo career after his record
label tried to revive his success and spent large sums
of money trying to make him a comeback kid. |
