| Avril Lavigne, everyone's favourite
Canadian broke onto the scene in 2001 with her hit,
Complicated. Several hits were to follow and hit albums
as well. Justin Timberlake, in the early stages of her
career was quoted saying he was obsessed with Lavigne
and could not pull himself away every time he saw her on
TV. She is now married to Sum 41's Derek Whibley and
continues to tour and make music. |

| Avril's latest effort, The Best Damn Thing was a
major hit around the world, becoming a number one hit
almost everywhere, except in Tivoli Gardens, (lol), and
was a hit in the U.S.A. making Avril's first number one
in the states. Some accused her of selling out with a
new pop edge and being too much of a girly girl, a style
she denounced early in her career. She followed up with
three more hit singles and a remix of Girlfriend which
features new hip-hop star, Lil' Mama providing vocals
and an appearance in the video for the track. She has
also been given endorsement deals and is doing her own
projects, musically, etc. |
